A client asked me how she could look forward to drinking enough water. She had purchased a lovely glass, but still found herself dreading actually drinking the water that she knew she wanted to drink.
She knew the benefits of drinking enough water – less stress, feeling better, less headaches, healthy looking skin, good digestion, more energy and a host of others, she just could not consistently inspire herself to drink!
I have a lovely solution that has helped me drink ample water AND keep myself interested in doing so consistently.
Every week (or more often if you get bored easily) do a quick meditation and ASK your body the following question:
“How would you like me to prepare the water so we receive the right amount of it this week?
Simple. Straight-forward. Do-able.
The answers may surprise you!
Perhaps you hear your body saying “this week, I only want to drink sparkly water” or “this week, I would like lemon with my water” or “this week, I want to only drink coffee” or “different kinds of tea” or “this week I want my water heated up” or “ice cold” or any number of other ways.
Want to know one of the reasons this works? We humans get bored. When we are bored, we rebel. When we rebel, sometimes we do the opposite of what we really want.
So, when you are faced with drinking another glass of water – try this exercise.
