Here is something we have heard for a long time:

It is better to give than receive.

I think the actual quote is:

It is more blessed to give than receive.

I have thought about this and wondered:

Is it better to give than receive?

I have come to the conclusion that the two actions are absolutely essential to each other.

Therefore, my answer is a resounding NO!

One cannot occur without the other.

Yes, I can give and not receive something in return

AND

I can receive and not give something

BUT, if something is given, something is received somewhere, somehow.

So, in my opinion…..

It is not better to give than receive.

That is like asking:

Is it better to exhale than inhale?

Ridiculous!

What I also know is:

Receiving is a muscle that has unfortunately been under-utilized

And

All of us need to practice receiving.
